PUBLIC

Speaking

My love for fashion extends beyond just styling—it's about storytelling, inspiration, and empowerment. That's why I'm thrilled to offer public speaking opportunities where I can share my insights and expertise with audiences eager to dive deeper into the world of style.

Work with me.

Style shouldn't discriminate, so I've taken it upon myself to empower Kiwis with the knowledge of wardrobe essentials and the confidence to strut their stuff. Based in Christchurch, I've garnered a loyal following eager to absorb my insights on transforming outlooks through confident and purposeful dressing.

My approach focuses on empowerment and understanding rather than pushing for more purchases. It's this genuine stance that sets me apart, as my recommendations are always authentic and my advice practical. Whether I'm leading discussions at my regular panels, guiding shoppers through DIY wardrobe makeovers with my downloadable dressing modules, or sharing ingenious tips on social media, I'm dedicated to making style accessible to everyone.

Kind words from Speaking Collaborations

" We have worked with Lou on multiple occasions and different sorts of events and opportunities. Our most recent partnership being a Superette Aperitivo X Lou Heller styling evening, where Lou chatted through her styling tips & tricks and how to put together the perfect Aperitivo-ready look. Lou brought amazing insights and truly captured the spirit of the collection. It is always a pleasure to work with Lou and her team."

" Lou played a pivotal role as a panellist at the Dulux Colour Forecast 2024 events, skillfully speaking about the connection between fashion and interior trends to a series of diverse audiences. Engaging guests with her insightful understanding of their cyclical nature, Lou's thorough preparation, enthusiasm and professionalism was evident from the first briefing to the conclusion of the campaign.  Attendees valued her relatable interpretations, and her expertise significantly enhanced the events, establishing her as a highly recommended speaker for future engagements."

" We absolutely love working with Lou - she is always very professional, prompt, and energetic."

" Our Women’s Network at My Food Bag is a safe space for those who identify as female to explore topics around women in leadership, creating balance, health, and wellness. It also provides an opportunity to be inspired by women in our networks and we were so excited to have Lou come and share with the women about styling! She really tapped into the purpose of our Women’s Network and added value by discussing our emotional relationship with clothes and styling. This sparked many conversations outside the room and numerous “ah ha” moments, empowering the women to go home and ask themselves the three words that would describe them and their style, and to look in their wardrobes! These unspoken topics have enabled us to empower the women here at MFB in their leadership, confidence, and well-being. Thank you, Lou!"

I don’t think I ever considered fashion to be so linked to emotion/mental health. The case studies were great and brought her messages to life.Would have been great to have a little more time for Q&A as had a few questions! Also be great to talk about environmentally friendly approaches to fashion like thrifting and repurposing existing garments.

I loved hearing about her life story and how she’s managed to end up doing the thing she’s passionate about, very inspirational! I also like how she highlighted the link between clothing and your mental state e.g. how confident you feel as this is really impactful for daily life and it’s not just about clothes/fashion.

Lisa

It was a really fun session. Lou made shopping and dressing sound like therapy which is fabulous!! Also, it was really good to be told to go and try lots of things on everywhere, that feels quite taboo and that if you try you really should buy something – that was helpful

Nush

Really enjoyed it, especially the psychology part.Keen to learn more about body image and self-talk as I think that is a huge factor for many women.

Louise W-R

I loved the talk, especially Lou’s honesty and openness, and her practical tips.  I will be telling my girlfriends about this talk !

Shilpi

What a wonderful session!!!!Enjoying the conversations it has sparked within and among us in the office. Fresh perspective on subconsciously how we dress. My major take away is “3 words which define your sense of style”.
